(The Bandit Kings)
May 5, 2010
Written by Dan King, Recorded by The Bandit Kings at Bang A Song

The first finished recording of new band The Bandit Kings!

Laredo was written in 2007 after Dan confesses he was into Tex-Mex music after a visit to Texas and Southern California and watching Sam Peckinpah and other style westerns for a spell.  The idea of border towns have been a fascination with Dan for some time, one of his favorite movies being the border town film noir "Touch Of Evil".   King says "Laredo also has one of the most musical sounding names when you think about it."

Back in Laredo my lady stays

fumbling around on the west side

the rio way

seven flags flown high

and the world touched the sky

with no goodbyes

baby I'm goin, goin back

Laredo

Back in Laredo hot summer nights

my lips were dry so I pulled on a bottle from my side

stars came out to play, I walked along that bridge come mexico way

baby I'm goin, goin back

Laredo

Back in Laredo I'm just night walking by the corner cafes

I was watching a street boy pick his fights along the way

I brushed you from behind, you held by hand and sighed

I don't mind

baby I'm goin, goin back
